Re: Photo Supreme 2023
PS - I really like the different bookmarks, much nicer than only the heart.

Re: Photo Supreme 2023
Ok, I take it all back. After a few restarts and playing with filters, it now is all back to normal.

Re: Photo Supreme 2023
Just installed 2023 (into the same folder as previously version 7). Works great and has some nice additions. Congrats. BUT... In folders my versions are now AGIAN always displayed as a single stack and not side-by-side, despite having set this in Preferences to "As set in Categories".... :...

Re: cascade date from main version
This did the trick, although it seems counterintuitive. Why two steps? By cascading the metadata I would have assumed that not only the file metadata get updated, but the PSu database as well...Read metadata after cascading perhaps?

cascade date from main version
Hi Hert, ever so often it happens that my edited files somehow get the date assigned when they were edited. I suspect that some of the editing tools I am using do that. I have been trying to resolve this by cascading the metadata from the main version (the untouched original) into the derived, edite...

Re: Photo Supreme 2023
Hi Hert, any advice on how to best install version 8? Can PSU 2023 simply be installed in the same folder as version 7? What is the best way to completely replace version 7, while keeping all my custom settings? I am asking because, given that I am using a lot of customization, I have had problems w...

Re: Can Photo Supreme detect when an image has been added to a folder?
Auto-detect / Folder Watching used to be a feature available in previous versions, but it ate up a huge amount of resources. I guess that's why it was again abandoned.

Re: Image List Not Properly Updating After Manual Version Set Changes
This is not so surprising. I am using versioning quite a bit and display refresh issues regularly happen also when automatically detecting versions. I think it is a performance issue similar to the image counts not necessarily updating on the folder tree after import. Or the image counts on the labe...

Re: Catalog size sanity check.
Photo Supreme databases are huge and with they newer versions of the program have even grown substantially. My catalog database is almost 30GB, the thumbnail database almost 35 GB, 140,000+ images (comparable to yours). Almost all my files are versioned, I am using a huge amount of keywords mapped t...

Re: Time Line corruption?
Time stamps in digital files are a notorious problem. I have some of the same issues with my files, particularly if they are derivatives edited in third-party software. But in my case things are bot quite as drastic. With the first camera invented supposedly in 1816, I am not even sure many folks di...

Re: catalogue update taking ages after update
I have a recent backup but if I try to start PSu without updating so that I can compress both dbs it closes. To be able to restore backup of the old version, you need to run it under the old version, so you need to downgrade, open the database, compress, install the new version, run. An alternative...

Re: How to ADD keywords WITHOUT deleting existing ones???
I can only second Hert's suggestion to study the cataloging manual. Why would you edit keywords manually using a cataloging software that is designed to help you adding keywords much more efficiently? Besides: The Details Panel is not intended for adding keywords manually. If you do that you are ask...

Re: Update Version set.
I am not sure I understand what you want. Your custom file mask includes virtually any image format to be selected as album display. I am not surprised that this doesn't work. How is the program supposed to know which image format it should use as album display??? If you include just any in your fil...

Re: Open all photos in Affinity Photo
I do like Affinity and have been thinking about getting v2, but if they only sell it as MS App... no way!
on any multi-user PC they apps are a really HUGE pain.

Re: Auto Import
Unfortunately, when creating derivative files in another application, there is no way PSu recognizes these files automatically. But there is a way to avoid having to re-apply the labels. If you save the Affinity files to the same folder, then go to that folder in PSu and verify the folder for files,...
