Re: how do you store your images?

Horst,
My situation is exactly the same. I have chosen not to edit the filenames. - 1. because it's a big task, 2. because the filename has some information (I can follow the file back to it's origin, scanning-time and negative-roll.

Re: Dealing With Time

I date all files in PS. If I dont know the day of the month, I use 01. If I don't know the month, I use 01-01, if don't know the year, I use the century - like 01-01-1950. Not perfect, but I think it is the best solution.

Re: how do you store your images?

I have 25.000-30.000 files, mostly old photos from my family, so I can follow your worries. It's a big job to date the pictures, but I find it important and do it as good as I can. My folders are century-year-month. If I am not certain of the exact date in a month, I use 01, if I don't know the mont...

Re: New import doesn't show in Folder tab

Aha, it worked. I should have thought of this! (Because of space issues I have moved all the user-related settings and folders from C: to E: (also home to the Memoryscan folder), but in my head the official Pictures folder was still on C: Maybe that is why I didn't see the connection.) Thank you ver...

New import doesn't show in Folder tab

Hi I have problems with the view in the Folders tab. When I import a new folder, it doesn't show up in the folder tab. Sometimes I can see it right after the import, but next time I open PS, it is gone. The import is OK, I can find all the images in the States tab - (In last import). The imported fo...

Re: How to keep metadata when converting images?

Thank you for taking time to help, Hert. As a veteran user of IDI and PS I feel somewhat stupid for not knowing this, but to my defense I can say, that I don't have the "Copy as JPG to folder"-option i my share window - see image below. ("Kopier til mappe" is danish for "Copy to Folder") I don't kno...

Re: How to keep metadata when converting images?

Thanks Hert. I don't think the services remove the metadata, but they are not able to use the sidecar-files for the PNG-files. And some of them - maybe Onedrive - can only use one of the "wrong" dates for sorting - not the capture date, that I have entered manually. Does anybody know of a converting...

Have you tried versioning and cascading the metadata down into the versions you want to share?
Yes, all images are fully versioned, metadata has been cascaded and the metadata is saved to the files.

How to keep metadata when converting images?

How do you share your photos? I have problems doing it in the right way and would like some advice. I want to share a lot of photos with a large group of relatives using Google Photos. The images are all in Photo Supreme with very good metadata, but when I upload them to Google Photos a lot of the m...

Re: Dual Monitor Setup - A question and A feature request

I recommend that you check your monitor setup in Windows - right click on desktop. When I had a similar problem, it was solved there.

Yes, I noticed it right from the start. I am not completely sure about the use and advantage though. Will study further.

My best find in my first 15 minutes is the editor in the description box in the details panel (a little pencil in the top left corner).
Cool that you've found it, but it was present in V5 too :)
Oops! Did you find any REAL new gems?

Share your best find in version 6

Hi all What is an important or just very nice feature in version 6? Please share your finds with the forum! My best find in my first 15 minutes is the editor in the description box in the details panel (a little pencil in the top left corner). I have really missed that. (But I would like at bigger c...

Re: Folder structure: Should I separate raw/jpg?

Thank you Geoff and Mike

I'll follow your advice, since I have to do some reordering anyway. This must be an opportunity to separate those filetypes.
