After an evening session adding labels to a newly imported folder (7139 items) I let the Synchronize Service work overnight. It was the only thing active on the network. And yet it would constantly stop and complain about an Error: Verification Service "cannot open file" and later in the same message "file not found."
It must be handicapped and blind. I can see and manually open every file it flags.
What is it about the Synchronize Service that makes it stumble so? Does it time out too fast? Doesn't like tiff files? but not every tiff.
file not found and cannot open file
Re: file not found and cannot open file
The fact that the file is there doesn’t mean it can be opened. The file is probably opened exclusively by another tool when Psu tries to open it. This will cause causing Psu to not be allowed to open the file and the os raising an error (which Psu then displays). Imagine a virus scanner scanning the file as it gets updated and then as you check the file later then the scan is already done and sure, it opens fine.
Backup software? Virus scanning software? Any other software that monitors the file system. File system restrictions? Those are things you could look at.

Re: file not found and cannot open file
Had a closer look at the antivirus settings since there are two computers that can access the image drive and both have active antivirus scanning enabled. The image drive was excluded on one computer but not on the other. That has been corrected. Now to wait and see if that solves the issue.
I run backup manually so the folders only get locked when I do it and not when PSu is active.
