getting started with facial recognition

Post by vkfoto »

Now that I finally have all of my existing images in the catalogue, (v2024 b6246, a small group at a time but that's another story) I have turned my attention to facial recognition. Many of the images have in the past been processed by TTP as well as manually assigned people labels in PSU.
When I view an image in Preview, I often see orange boxes around the faces, sometimes with names under them, sometimes without.
When there are multiple faces and they are all labelled correctly, is there a way to confirm the guesses in one step instead of having to click on each one at a time to Link to the name label?

PS: Looking closer, I see an option in the sub-menu: Recognize Faces for existing Areas (R)

It takes a moment but then the selections turn blue, except when it doesn't.

Hi vkfoto

You can right click the areas, a menu shows. In the bottom of the menu, you can confirm the name, that the AI has chosen. Or you can assign another name yourself - in this case you dont have to confirm.

In addition, if the AI has chosen a correct name then you don’t have to confirm. Confirmed face are used as references going forward. In other words; a confirmed face is what teaches the AI who is who and based on that it will pick a name automatically.
In the details of a person’s catalog label you can see the confirmed faces for that person.
