Hi
I am excited about the new face detection and recognition feature, but I could need af few guides to get started. I have read the pages in the "QuickStart Artificial Intelligence"-pdf.
- As far as I can see, you can choose several images, right click, and get the face detection started on all of them. But then you need to assign names to the face-areas. Is this done manually one image at the time in the preview window? Or are there other, quicker ways?
- How can I see a list or selection of all the images containing af specific named face area?
- Does the size of the box with the face area matter? Sometimes only af smaller part of the face is covered by the box, should I make it fit better? (In order to give the AI more to work with)
I'll very much welcome any answers and/or other hints, thank you.
Rgds

Not tried multiple files yet, will comment when I have!Jesperben wrote: 23 Feb 24 21:27 - As far as I can see, you can choose several images, right click, and get the face detection started on all of them. If you run "Detect&Recognise" it should Detect faces and if there are already faces that are recognised it will mark them up. If you don't have any existing faces to Recognise, or none that are recognised, then you will need to manually add the name links to start with, once you have faces linked to names with luck it will spot identical ones and do them automatically.Jesperben wrote: 23 Feb 24 21:27 - How can I see a list or selection of all the images containing af specific named face area?

I've been using it on individual images - just hit the 'F' key and go from there.Jesperben wrote: 23 Feb 24 21:27 - As far as I can see, you can choose several images, right click, and get the face detection started on all of them. On the top menu bar, go to States -> With Areas, and drag With Areas to the Dynamic Search boxJesperben wrote: 23 Feb 24 21:27 - How can I see a list or selection of all the images containing af specific named face area?
On the to menu bar, go Categories, find the name, and drag that to the Dynamic Search box too
Hit the Dynamic Search button
The majority of my face-tagged images have been created manually, by dragging and dropping the name to the photo & resizing (some of them even tagging the back of people's heads). That doesn't seem to have caused a problem for Face Recognition - I guess it discards information it deems non-useful - I've been testing it for several hours now.Jesperben wrote: 23 Feb 24 21:27 - Does the size of the box with the face area matter? No other hints, but Face Recognition is proving to be useful for me, provided there aren't too many people in the image - though it's Face Detection that then fails, rather than Face Recognition. I guess the features are too small to detect. Also some spot-on identifications of people even when wearing sunglasses or heavily disguised.
Some of the mis-identifications have been interesting too. Some suggesting people who I'd never previously though of as looking particularly similar, and a few hilariously wrong guesses!
