Photo Supreme Build 5027 Hangs Frequently

I'm getting a lot of hangups with PS Build 2023.2.0.5027. This is happening both on my M1 Pro Sonoma MacBook Pro and my non-Sonoma Intel iMac.

It will often happen when I'm updating metadata and move around to a different part of the program (like going from the Details pane to Geo Tag, or switching from one folder to another.

Sometimes it will just do it on its own. I'll be ingesting a folder of images and the Activity pane in the lower left corner will be doing its thing and then just hang and give me the spinning beach ball until I force quit the app.

If there are log files I'd be happy to provide them.

Have you compacted the database recently? On my system (Windows 10) build 5027 works just fine.

Yes, I compacted it a day or two ago. I had the issues before and still have them afterwards.

Oh, also while ingesting it will do its thing up until it reaches 99.9% and then it'll just stop. Won't hang with the beachball, but it won't finish either. I have to X it out and hope it actually finished whatever it was doing at the time.

I'm noticing a new issue now as well. I ingested one folder holding roughly 13,000 photos in it (spread around several layers of more folders) and it's only building thumbnails on the pictures that are presently in view. If I let it sit it will only build thumbnails for the pictures on the screen then it will stop. I have to scroll through the folder or select another folder for the process to continue.

It has never done this before. I went ahead and just quit the program and opened it up again and it seems to be doing everything correctly this time.

If you get thumbs only when scrolling then that means that those thumbnails are not pre-built yet: either still building in the process or a previous thumb build was cancelled.

Use Tools -> Build Missing Thumbnails and Previews to make sure that all thumbnails and previews are built.
Don't close the application or cancel the thumb building process before it is finished.

You are correct, I have the same issue, if I try to write back many Metadata.
Now I'm using older Version again.

Sounds good, I will do that in the future.

But just now I went to ingest 300 photos and this is what the Activity Bar looks like:

It remained unchanged for several minutes. I did the "Build Missing Thumbnails" tool and as you can see it's not doing it.

Again, I'd be happy to submit log files, but this build has issues that did not exist before.

I seem to have a simular issue with build 5078.

After performing some action PSU hangs. CPU use around 10%. Let it run for over 5 hours but is does not stop. After a hard stop I have to restart my Windows 11 machine, start PSU again and after a short while I get into the same situation again.
