Sorry to create another GEO Location post but I am in the process of adding geolocation metadata to thousands of images and think the workflow could be improved with a little modification to the GEO Location module. I often need to tag multiple locations that are geographically close to each other but the workflow is not as efficient as it could be. When you assign a geolocation to a label the GEO Location module defaults to New York. I understand that a default location is required on first use but this location is the default each every time the geotagging module is opened. It would simplify geotagging multiple locations if the subsequent use of the GEO Location module remembered the previous location and used it for the initial location when launched. Maybe that is how it is meant to work but for some reason it does not work for me.
In this video I demonstrate what happens when I create two labels that are geographically close to each other. https://youtu.be/ON_YFKnHYsQ
I know it is only a few more keystrokes and a few more seconds per label but when you are creating many new labels it does feel like a delay that could be eliminated.
Should I create a change/feature request?
GEO Location workflow improvement
Re: GEO Location workflow improvement
While i cannot say i follow all of what you write above, but if you have a good idea, please do create a feature request in Mantis.
