Hi,
I am trialling Photo Supreme but cannot get any of my photos to display when I select "All" in the catalog bar, which the instructions say should display the entire catalog. If I select "Folders" I can see my photos and likewise if I select "Timeline" I can see my photos. Does anyone know why my photos will not display when "All" is selected?
Thanks in advance.
Chris
Catalog Bar - "All" does not display any photos
Re: Catalog Bar - "All" does not display any photos
Hi Chris, a warm welcome to the forum.
Selecting All from the top will display all catalog sections in the left side, making it easy to have multiple sections (like a folder and a rating and...) open at the same time.
If you want to get all images from the Catalog (why would you??) then you can click the counter next to the top level folder of your Folders

Re: Catalog Bar - "All" does not display any photos
Hi Hert,
Thanks for the help and advice. Yes, I suppose you are right, why would you want to view all images from the catalog? Its probably because I am migrating from Apple Photos and used to being able to see everything in one view that you can scroll through. Once I get to grips with Photo Supreme I would not want to, hence migrating, but whilst I am trialling and using a small selection of my photos to understand and learn the system it is just useful to be able to flip and see the the entire limited catalog to check everything I am doing is correct.
It is just strange that the Quick Start Manual says clicking "All" allows you to view the entire catalog in a single view, when it doesn't (they even have an image that shows it).
Thanks again
Chris

Re: Catalog Bar - "All" does not display any photos
The Catalog is the combination of the Catalog Structure and the Images. The wording in the documentation is now updated to prevent such confusion. Thank you

"Why would you?" Because you want to scroll through all photos of your catalog. Why would you always only see a filtered list?Hert wrote: 14 Apr 20 7:56 If you want to get all images from the Catalog (why would you??) then you can click the counter next to the top level folder of your Folders
Also, your tipp does not work, when you have photos from multiple hard drives in one catalog.

Tip; if you need "all photos" frequently then make a favorite of it. But I highly discourage that approach. It will also slow you down a lot.
Because you're using a DAM to search for photos that you know you have. Instead of "1. get all photos, 2. filter to those you need", in PSU you have one step "filter what you need". If you need all photos with John Doe on it, you would get all photos you have of John Doe, and not get all photos and then those of John Doe. This is a different paradigm than you are used to in MP.Because you want to scroll through all photos of your catalog. Why would you always only see a filtered list?
Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (macOS) click on multiple nodes to join them together. Also, your tipp does not work, when you have photos from multiple hard drives in one catalog.

In my case, to save having to scroll through tens of thousands of images in the vague hope of finding what I'm looking for.
