There was a post about this a few years ago, but there still seems to be a problem when including international characters in labels in the catalogue. I take quite a lot photographs in Iceland and after entering Icelandic names (with accents etc), sometimes new labels are added to my photos with messed up versions of the correct name. So my photos can end up with extra labels which get included in the Miscellaneous category. As an example one just appeared today. The original label was Sólheimar and the extra one is Sólheimar. This does not always happen, but is a pain when it does, as the extra labels need to be deleted.
Has anyone else had this problem and any suggestions on how to stop it. I am running build 3.2.2075 (64 bits).

International Characters
Re: International Characters
Inconclusive, AFAIK, but you might do a test with an image which you have edited externally. It might be a source of the problems.
Never say never change, but using Mac since 2005. Photo Supreme 3.3.0.2605. I endorse the interoperability of files between applications and systems.
Re: International Characters
Like you, many of my pics have Icelandic person and place names. As long as I remain within the PSU ecosystem, I'm good, but I have had to correct names entered in one of the many DAM alternatives, I have tried out over the years.
- no previous experience with Idimager whatsoever...
Re: International Characters
Morning,
My language is Swedish and I use our national characters mainly in the Description when needed, like for names.
I can tell you that I have no problem with description for images but almost allways have a problem with description for film.
In such a case the swedish characters åäö will most lilely turn out to be something different and odd. When this happens I just reenter the correct characters a second or maybe even a third time and then suddely they stay.
I have reported this as a bug in Mantis
Good luck with your names, Harald
