Does that script also work on Windows? Presumably it does? I would love to be able to compact on a different drive than on my SSD.

BTW: the quantity of images in your database and the size of the thumbnails is NOT the ONLY issue that results in a huge database. I have "just" 139,458 images in my database, nowhere near a million, but my main catalog is still 7.54 GB large! The thumbnail database 31.2 GB at a 1289px thumb size...

But I do have a fairly complex database with LOTs of labels mapped to XMP ... which I believe can make a difference too.

Frank, the script will also work on Windows. Just change the VacuumFolder in the script (top line) to the folder of your need.
