Just uninstall old versions or be careful?

Post by Ralf »

Hello,
I'm currently cleaning up my configurations and the question arises, can I simply delete old PhotoSupreme (not 2024 version) installations or will this delete my "c:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\IDimager Systems, Inc\" directory , which the newer versions also use.

and which of the directories can then be removed (not 2024 version)?
c:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\IDimager\
c:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\IDimager Systems, Inc\

Why are there duplicate directories, do they have a certain relevance for me as a user or are they legacy issues from the days of IDIMager?

So, for example, never store it here as a user
"c:\Program Files\IDimager Products\Photo Supreme 2024\Resources\RenameRules\"

but here

"c:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\IDimager Systems, Inc\RenameRules\"

or the other way around?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm trying to clean up and optimize my backup jobs.

greeting
Ralf

Always good practice to backup before deleting.

* c:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\IDimager\ can be removed

You can uninstall older versions. This will not delete the app data folder that you point out.
If needed reinstall v2024 afterwards, though that shouldn't be needed.

Always store user files in the AppData folder, not in the installation folder.
