LAP marker that indicates a Category when the Category uses a custom color

Post by Mke »

A few thoughts after this new addition in build 4883:

1 - The marker seems to show up even if the category uses a default color. From the description, presumably (I hope) this shouldn't happen? Maybe it's been triggered because I have additional top-level categories?

2 - So I've not yet got used to the markers, but I'm not keen on having the markers dotted around 'randomly' (OK, so they're not actually random, but visually they appear so) - I find them distracting:

If I must have colored markers, I'd prefer them to be grouped by color. Though I'd prefer not to have them at all.

3 - While on the topic, my preference would be to change the order in which the 'buttons' are displayed, so that they read the same way as reading text - that is, left to right, then down a row. Rather than down a column, then back to the start of the next column. Just me?

Have to agree that the labels would be nice ordered at times, but not quite sure what order, maybe best to be able to choose optional ordering scheme when it would be useful but some times its nice to have the same ones in the same position each time ..... keeps thinking!

If you don't like the markers then a quick tip: set the color in the Category details to fully transparent.

It is the background color that is displayed in the triangle. Looking at your screenshots (nice picture btw) your categories have a font color but no background color.

What are these markers actually good for?

So you instantly recognize what Category a Catalog Label is part of.
