I’m switching from Windows workflow (using GeoSetter for keywords & supplemental categories, Picasa for Face Recognition and Daminion for Person In Image information) to MacOS Photo Supreme. It is a nice journey to discover the new workflow that suits my requirements. Besides discovering the new workflow (for new images), I like to migrate my current photo collection also to the unified PSU Category/Label structure. Yes, I want to have a clean total collection, all organized at the same way
In the previous workflow I had a standard list of values in the ITPC element SupplementalCategories. Values like Christmas, Holiday, Weekend, Wedding and so fort. I’m looking how to migrate my collection. The import preference parameters only look to Keywords and PersonInImage to map to People Category. But I like to convert the SupplementalCategories to the Events Category.
Any suggestions how to manage this conversion?

My first idea is to use the Details editor and migrate the supplemental category to the event field by selecting the macro from the right click context menu in the Event field.
That will copy the supplemental category to event, which should on its turn return as a catalog label in the Events category (I haven’t tried it).
Maybe others can join in with additional suggestions.
