Unexpected behaviour of labels

For a long time I am using the label "Fam. Kooij". Never had an issue with that.
Today when I select this label it is being split in "Fam" and " Kooij". So I get two labels in stead of one and they are also written as two seperate keywords.
Can somebody please explain? Or is this a bug?? Or a setting?

Nothing changed in catalog syncing.

Could it be that you let other software change the metadata of your images?

Here's a screenshot where I created a catalog label "Fam. Kooij", which I then assigned to a test image and after sync, the keyword appears correct.
