Have some ideas. Maybe can solved via scripts but i am not really good at them, i just copy what it hink it should do it and hope for the best.
1, Cutted off text. If i have many or long Catalog Labels (i have max 10) it just cut off text but i will not care if it expand thumbnail area. Can be this fixed ?

2, Next i add my Catalog Labels to memberships like in this example i add "GATE" to "COPYRIGHT" Label set membership

And "Rory Mercury" to "CHARACTERS" Label set membership

So i hope something like this is possible in Custom Thumbnail Info image below in place "1" imagine something like "showCatalogLabelSet=COPYRIGHT color=violet" And in place number "2" "showCatalogLabelSet=CHARACTERS color=green" (totally made up code just for illustration)

Then in place "1" it shows catalog label "GATE" in violet color and in place "2" it shows catalog label "Rory Mercury" in green color
