Meta Problem

I imported a library of old photos that were described in the attributes keywords and description. Unfortunately, the program did not import the metadata, and every time I pressed ctrl+s to make changes it erased the previously entered data. Only the facial recognition data (name and surname) was correctly recognized and assigned to the correct person.

How can I set Photo Supreme to import files with descriptions / comments (made in Windows Explorer) and not delete already existing descriptions? Currently I have to be very careful that the program does not delete descriptions which are special because they refer to historical photos and if the descriptions are erased I would have to restore the backups.

Looking at the PSU screenshot, you didn't select the thumbnail, hence why it's empty.

My apologies, this time it imported the photo meta (although I clicked on the thumbnail before). However, I do not understand why entries are duplicated in Photo Supreme. Another question is why "Titel (Headline)" is also recognized as Description and the "Comments" were not imported at all. Did Microsoft implement the IPTC standard wrong in Windows 10?

I've looked at your image. Why the title is the same as the description? That is because that is how it exists in the metadata of your file.
Here's what ExifTool shows for your file:

FYI; to describe images you should use Description. Hover the mouse over the field title to see how that field is described. Title is intended to for the "document name"...and for a digital asset that is typically the file name on disk. Do not use that for describing your images (hence why PSU shoves it to the bottom).

Photo Supreme shows a tool focused on metadata...and so using PSU any metadata that exists (read mess) becomes painfully clear.

I did exactly as you wrote. Only not in Photo Supreme, but in Windows Explorer or possibly other image programs.

I have also described the test file via Windows Explorer to show that something is wrong, and I always add descriptions as Description/Comment, not as header.

Unfortunately Supreme recognizes descriptions as I wrote earlier as header. From now on I will simply make descriptions in Photo Supreme.
