A couple of questions on description information

Post by OldRadioGuy »

1. In the Details panel, Description Edit (pencil) window — would it be helpful to add some of the system text functions such as double-clicking to select a word, Cmd/Ctrl+ to expand the size of the text, etc.? It seems much easier to open a Mac/Windows text editor and do the editing there, then paste into the PSu Description Edit window.

2. In the Info panel, the Description window does not show all of the description information if a lot of text has been placed there. Would it be helpful to make that window dynamic, allowing it to expand to fit the amount of information that has been entered?

Bob, thank you for the suggestion. The description editor is a "plain text" editor and doesn't allow you to define font sizes. I though double click would work to select a work, but you're right that it doesn't.

Tip: in the Info Panel, add the description as a custom field.

I thought this would work as an option, but when I try to copy and paste from Apple TextEdit into the PSu Description Edit window, nothing happens.

One other thought related to this topic. On my 27" iMac screen, the text in the PSu Description Edit window is extremely small, making it tiring to the eyes and contributing to editing mistakes, mistakes I often don't catch until I'm viewing the data in another app (at a larger size).

Thanks for your great product and fantastic support.

I can't also manage to paste into PSU fields (Info or Detail..) any text copied to the clipboard from external applications. I am using Mac OS Big Sur 11.3 and PSU 6.0.0.3671, so everything at the latest current release. Is there any thing I am doing wrong or is it a general bug? Thanks.

Copy & paste seems to work OK using Windows 10 (Pro 20H2, OS build 19042.928) with PSU (v6.1.0.3685) & notepad as the text editor. That suggests it is a Mac thing or, at least, a Mac/PSU thing.

I agree with OldRadioGuy re text readability. I find the white on black especially tough. I guess the easy solution here would be to change the resolution of our iMacs.
