Windows 10 Home build 19041 64 bit
Last version PSU V5
Recently I discovered a problem when assigning labels to Raw-files and writing the information to a XMP file. In the process of assigning labels PSU creates everytime a temporary XMP file (with extension -ori-........). Up till now these temporary files are deleted without you're noticing this; so you see only 1 XMP file with a normal extension. In my case there are now some temporary files, depending on how much labels are assigned. A fault in the deleting process.
After great and extensive help from Hert we are still searching for the cause of the problem. Everything we tried is getting no result.
So are there other users with some temporary XMP files in their folders? Normally you dont't look after them, I saw it also by accident. The problem starts in the last 1 or 2 months.

Re: Temporary XMP files not delteted
Yes I have come across them, normally just deleted them as it was clear that they had been left over for some odd reason, at some point I'll search the entire drive for any others remaining.

Re: Temporary XMP files not delteted
Nikcob and I have had extensive contact about this over email. Since I can’t reproduce it here, I advised him to post this on the forum so we have more input and hopefully can come up with a way to reproduce this.
@geoff; can you reproduce some steps when this leads to such a remaining temp file?
Tnx

Re: Temporary XMP files not delteted
Not sure I can reproduce them Hert, I came across them by chance, the best thing I can do is note the date & time of the files and try to remember what happened at that time.

Re: Temporary XMP files not delteted
OK well only found two they are of the form;
20201120113936_VD_00005.xmp._ori_683E53AE0E6747DDAC500F7FE4C8668B.xmp
So a search *_ori_*.xmp finds them how ever they were for me from 6 days ago so no chance of remembering what was happening!
I will however keep an eye open for them in the future.

Re: Temporary XMP files not delteted
@geoff: in my case it's happening with every new in PSU uploaded raw-file. After applying 1 label there is is a normal xmp-file, with the second label I get an ori-file, with the third change in labels the result is a normal xmp and an ori-file, and so on. Perhaps you can try with a test file if this also the case in your situation?
Re: Temporary XMP files not deleted
Well it doesn't happen for .nef Raw images for me.
