Loving Photo Supreme!
Loving Photo Supreme!
I was an Idimager user about 10 years ago, having used version 3, 4, and 5 after using iMatch for a while. I absolutely loved IDI. But when Idimager became Photo Supreme, much of what I loved was gone. Although I missed the power of IDI and Hert’s great support, when Lightroom went on sale, I bought it. I began to like the fact that I could add hierarchical keywords and do basic DAM searching in the same product that I used as my raw editor. The downside was that Adobe products seems to get more bloated and invasive over the years and when they went to a subscription model, I decided to look elsewhere. I found Affinity Photo as my Photoshop replacement and darktable as my raw editor. However, darktable as a DAM is pretty basic, and buggy too. iMatch has new features but I’ve switched to a Mac so that was out. So I decided to take a look at Photo Supreme again. WOW! How it is grown over 10 years! It didn’t take long to get used to the interface and I was very impressed with the capabilities. I purchased PSU after only a couple days of trial. It is so powerful (more power than I need as an amateur with just 25,000 images) but I love how easy it is to find exactly what I’m looking for super quickly. I now do all my ingesting, rating, adding to collections, and adding other metadata in Photo Supreme. Even though I do my post-processing in other apps, it’s nice to be able to do a quick edit on an image that I just imported. After several weeks of using it and browsing this forum, I’m still discovering new capabilities. And a HUGE plus was to see that Hert is still so active in the forum, and quick to provide support (also provided by other users), squash bugs and add features. I’m probably preaching to the choir here but it is great to be back!!
Re: Loving Photo Supreme!
Morning,
My days started with ThumbsPlus soon followed by IDI. And as said above, PSU is best. I use it almost every day and it is the key /main tool to manage my archive of objects. Will also agree that support from various people (with Hert first) is very good.
Regards, Harald
