Hi
The question is basically the title line. How do I make PS ignore a spesific folder in my folder tree?
I have some folders that are ignored (marked in a shaded grey in the folder tree) and by right clicking on them I can make PS stop ignoring them. But there are no right click options to start ignoring a folder, only to remove or delete - How do I only ignore them?
I obviously managed to do that some time ago since I do have ignored folders (so it's probably easy to do), but right now I'm not capable of finding this option

How to ignore a folder
Re: How to ignore a folder
There is no permanent way to ignore a folder (unless you never use 'Scan for Missing Folders' at that level in the hierarchy).
The solution is to build your file structure with two branches; one for images to be catalogued, the other for those not to be catalogued. And then set the top level folder to the relevant branch in PSU.

Re: How to ignore a folder
Thanks, but then why do I have some folder that are ignored (rightfully so), and why is there an rightclick option to "stop ignoring"?
That to me indicates that there is a way to manually ignore a folder.
Building a separate branch feels like a nogo to me.

Re: How to ignore a folder
The only way I know of is to remove the folder from the catalog (right click and select Remove "folder"), scan for missing folders, then in the results box change the action from the default "Add folder to catalog" to "Ignore this folder".

Re: How to ignore a folder
Because you chose to add them to PSU's folder tree during 'Scan for Missing Folders', but they don't contain any images (or any other file types that PSU is configured to catalogue).
So that PSU can stop ignoring them when you add relevant files?
Re: How to ignore a folder
Thank You to the both of You
I guess this requires a Mantis request for adding a righclick "ignore this folder" option then.

Re: How to ignore a folder
Would also be nice to specify a permanent rule for ignore directories
e.g., Capture One creates a sub-directory named CaptureOne that only contains metadata for the raw processor.
Currently it 'requires ignore directory' on each 'verify folders for files...' operation

Re: How to ignore a folder
Folders that don't contain relevant files during Verify will be set as ignored automaticallyendre wrote: 12 Jan 20 18:04Currently it 'requires ignore directory' on each 'verify folders for files...' operation
