Mapping a label to custom fields

I want to map a label to multiple custom fields but ONLY write if a field is empty (i.e., I'm trying to initialize multiple fields), can I? Also, can I do this via a script?

One can do nearly anything with a script and my guess is that is the only way to do what you want.
