Question about ingesting

Post by stevehughes »

(Importing in PSU terminology)

I currently use Photo Mechanic for ingesting RAWs from camera. I'm investigating whether I can use PSU instead. So far the answer seems to be 'mostly YES' except for one thing:

In cases where I have fired a burst of shots I will often go through the burst at 100% to check for focus etc and then dump the sub-optimal shots before ingesting. Photo Mechanic makes this easy because I can zoom to any desired zoom level and it will retain the zoom setting as I move through images. PSU doesn't seem to do this - I can zoom in to 100% on an image, but when I move to the next image it reverts to 'fit to screen'.

Anyone got any tips / comments etc ?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

Judging from the lack of a response to your question, I assume that nobody has found a way to do what you want to do. I agree that it would be a useful feature. Perhaps a feature request is in order. I use a different program for ingesting my images and I do the same as you. I use FastPictureViewer and it has a simple keyboard shortcut (Enter) that toggles between fit-to-screen and 100% and persists that setting as you navigate through your images. It's very helpful and trying to cull images without that feature is much more difficult and takes way longer.

Created a feature request in Mantis:
