date sort of major category

I have a major category "plants" containing subcategories of specific plant species. I thought it would be interesting to see ALL of the pictures in the major category, but sorted by date, not by subcategory. This would allow tracking the bloom order of different species.

Is there any way to do this?

Hi Patrick,

I think you could select all pictures in the 'plants' category (by clicking right on the image counter for the category), then choose the appropriate sort order in the View settings for the collection.

That worked well. It also pointed out to me that what I really want is a sort by month and day, skipping the year. I want to see what pictures were taken on a particular day regardless of the year. I suspect that a script could do this since I see script as an option in the sort options, but I have no idea how to create such a script.
