Howdy,
I was looking through my photos and noted that none of the files I have catalogued in 2016 had tags embedded in the metadata. The a quick sampling of photos form earlier years had all the tags present. I assume that this happened during an update, but regardless, is there an easy way to set all my tags to default to write to metadata and do a push to write all the info?
Thanks,
Jamie

Re: Tags not present in Photo Metadata
Hi Jamie,
With CTRL+S the labels will be written unless you enable under "Preferences - Write Settings - Store Metadata to Database only".
Under "Synchronize Settings" you can also enable to "automatically write out catalog changes to the files". Unless you enable this setting you need to manually invoke the data to be written.
To do this either:
(1) Select all the photos that need the labels written to them and via CTRL+S write the metadata to the file(s) [you can see all files that are not yet synchronized under "Catalog - By Catalog State - Out of Sync"].
(2) Simply use "Tools - Save metadata to file for all out-of-sync images"
Cheers,
Frank

Re: Tags not present in Photo Metadata
Check your synchronize settings in the preferences and make sure that you have its write setting configured to write to the files. Share a screenshot here if you want us to look at them.
To manually write:
Select the year (CATALOG-By date; click the counter for 2016)
Select all thumbs (Ctrl-A or Cmd-A)
Right click on a selected thumb and select Metadata-Save metadata to file
Does that help?

Re: Tags not present in Photo Metadata
Thanks for the responses,
I checked my settings and it appears I have them correct, but to be sure, I have attached a screenshot. I also tried to select files and manually save the metadata to file (ctrl+s and right click), and seem to have no effect. I also did some more digging and noted that the problem started in Apr 2016 (if that helps at all. Thanks again for the replies!
