The algorithm autocomplete fields places - strange (BUG?)
The algorithm autocomplete fields places - strange (BUG?)
Not understand the algorithm fields Place. The sync settings set: up to city level. If all metadata fields (country, country code, state, city, location) are filled, then place in a category, these places are automatically added. However, if the field is empty city and country, state, location are filled, the place in the section do not accrue. Although, as minima to be State or country. I attach screenshots of them should be self-explanatory.

Re: The algorithm autocomplete fields places - strange (BUG?
Hi Maxometr,
If I understand correctly, the issue is that your country and state labels are not assigned when the city field is empty, right? Have you tried to do a refresh (click on the Folders tab and then back on the Catalog tab), just to make sure it's not just a counter refresh issue? If the country and state labels are indeed not matched and assigned, then I would consider this a bug, although I'm not sure what is the designed behavior.
@Hert: does the "Up to City level" setting imply that the City field *must* be filled in order to trigger the matching of upper location fields?

Maxometer,
In this example the image is not assigned to the label. Are you saying it should have been assigned on import? If there's no pre-existing City in the metadata then it won't be created. If you assign the city label and then write metadata then the City should also be written.
@Vlad: PSU stops when there's no content. E.g. Country and State are filled, but City not then PSU stops at the City level

Re: The algorithm autocomplete fields places - strange (BUG?
I think it should be so: if the field "country" is filled, then the label should be assigned and the counter should count. Also, the field "state". Here is an example of how I think it should work. Field "city" is empty, but the field "country" and "state" are filled, then the label must be assigned to the counter and count them. Or am I wrong?

Re: The algorithm autocomplete fields places - strange (BUG?
Maxometr, I don't think you are wrong at all. Based on Hert's answer (which was in line with my own expectation), I think that the fields should be matched to labels exactly as you describe. However, the counter refresh issue is a well known problem (which is not confined to location labels) - that's why I asked if you have already tried a manual refresh.
Also, did you ensure the image is not marked as out of sync? Either way, does the force reading of metadata (Ctrl+Alt+S) help? Finally, I notice that you have placed Russia at the level of continent labels. Could this be a problem? (Yes, I do know that Russia spans both Europe and Asia, but you might want to try moving the label under Europe - or Asia - just to see if that somehow helps.)
Please let us know further - I am interested in location fields and labels too.

Re: The algorithm autocomplete fields places - strange (BUG?
I know the problem with updating the counter but this is not it. Writing, reading of metadata is done by hand - does not help. The label "Russian" move - did not help. As soon as I was in the "city" write "1", press "OK", then immediately appeared label "1". And the counter has counted "Россия" and "Ленинградская область" The pictures can be seen. then the problem is in the algorithm assign labels.

I agree and I would find it useful if you could report the bug in Mantis. I previously noted a number of location issues and oddities too.Maxometr wrote:the problem is in the algorithm assign labels.
