'Write delimited keywords' going away?

I rely on keywords that have a hierarchy delimited with '/' so that Windows Media Center (and the Windows OS) can honor the keyword tag hierarchy. This option in Photo Supreme is labeled as "deprecated" so does this mean it is eventually going away and at some point I won't be able to use it? Thanks.

Hello, the delimited writing is marked as DEPRECATED to demotivate people to use delimited keywords. It won't be removed, for the sole reason that it offers compatibility/interoperability with Microsoft photo tools. That should be the only reason for using delimited keywords, though everyone is of course free to decide for themself to use it or not.

Interesting.. are we saying that folks should not use hierarchical keywording? Or are we saying folks shouldn't use keywords that contain a deliminated character in them (such as "." or "/")? I have been rethinking my keywording strategy yet again and since hierarchical keywording has not been accepted nor supported as widely as I hoped it would - am thinking of dropping the hierarchy and just going for straight keywords. I think 9.9 times of out 10, this wouldn't cause an issue for me anyway as I don't seem to have many "collisions" or "keyword clarity" issues that hierarchical keywording is supposed to prevent.

Hert has soundly advocated the use of Lightroom key words for a long time rather than using simple keywords or the other form of delimited keywords. Changing over from regular delimited to Lightroom keywords is on my to-do list to be accomplished in the next couple of months, as it makes perfect sense to me.

That option has never been enabled on my system, so enabling it represents a change for me.
