Thumbnail priority
Just got my copy of Photo Supreme and one of the first things I've noticed is the priority of the thumbnail service. In IDI5, if you click on an image, and that image does not yet have a thumbnail generated, it sends it to the head of the queue. I think that it actually does that with the images that are currently on the page being displayed, too. That doesn't seem to be the case here. Is there something I can do to force the creation of a thumbnail ahead of all the rest of the images? I'm sitting here looking at an almost blank display with only one image displayed and the rest queued for thumbnail generation.

Re: Thumbnail priority
Hi Eric,
PSU also uses thumb priority, but there are multiple threads that build thumbs and one may finish earlier.
To build your thumbs, choose Build Missing Thumbs from the Tools menu. Maybe let it run overnight?

Re: Thumbnail priority
I have just imported a bunch of PDF files but no thumbnails are being displayed. The PDFs that were migrated from IDI display their thumbnails. The new PDFs correctly display their thumbnails in Windows Explorer (View > Thumbnails). I've tried ctrl+alt+T to rebuild selected thumbnails, and just tried Build Missing Thumbs from the Tools menu (which I'd forgotten existed) but still no luck. Is this a bug?IDimager wrote:To build your thumbs, choose Build Missing Thumbs from the Tools menu. Maybe let it run overnight?

Re: Thumbnail priority
If I just click on a blank thumbnail, it should recreate it pretty quickly? Just for grins, on my page of blanks, I clicked on one and minimized. Several hours leter it still did not display that thumbnail. I finally started the process that builds all the missing ones and let it run. The program has blown up twice since I started that process. This could take a week. Is the thumbnail database from IDI5 compatible, can I just copy that over?

Re: Thumbnail priority
Ok, part of this whole mess might be due to a second copy of IDImagerSU.exe running. Probably happened due to one of the crashes. Anyway, restarted the computer and things are moving a bit faster now! We'll see in the morning.

Re: Thumbnail priority
Now the find and build thumbnail process won't build. It starts by searching and in the past, the second process thread started up to do the thumbnail creation. Now, the second process does not start even tho there are still missing thumbs and the first process finds about 500 or so of these. I tried compressing the thumb db and ran the cleanup thumbs routine. No joy. I'm probably gonna have to delete the thumbs db and start over, eh?

Re: Thumbnail priority
The re-thumb process has finished. If I restart that process it still reports that it finds more, but then does nothing. Warm and fuzzy does not describe my feelings toward this procedure so far.

did you restart PSU after all thumbnail have being built?

Re: Thumbnail priority
No sure, but I blew away the thumbs database again and I'm leaving the thumbs creation up to the automatic process that takes place during regular image viewing.
