Move database to new drive - PSU Server postgresql

Post by weidmic » 24 Apr 17 20:39

One of my SSD's where is database is stored is running out of space soon... (can't even compact the thumbs DB because of this)
I decided to get a new SSD dedicated just for the database. Now I need a step by step (foolproof) guidance on how to do that ;)

Old path was: D:\My PSU\PSU-postreSQL
New path would be Y:\My PSU\PSU-postreSQL

Postgresql version installed: 9.5 build 1800 64 bit
PGadmin is also installed on my system

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks
Michael

Hi Michael,
First try a PSU backup/restore. Another option is that you backup the database with PGAdmin and then restore with PGAdmin on the client.
Don't forget to relocate afterwards

Don't think the backup/restore would work. I did a little more research and found something that helps to do what I need:

I just want to confirm, that this manual works and it is pretty easy to do :)
