Post by oston » 25 Sep 16 19:17

I cannot get the CC Panel to come up. When I click on the CC icon I get this message

Invalid Variant Type Cast (0)

Try to delete the file ccdata.xmp.
In Windows the file is found in the folder %localappdata%\IDimager Systems, Inc\

Hi, Hert.

I'm still having problems with the CC (Creative Commons) Panel. After deleting the xml file, I can bring up the panel and select the options I want.
The appropriate text shows in the Details Panel, but the text is not retained when O click OK and when I try to bring up the panel, the error message returns.

I've gone through the delete ... etc cycle a few times, but I cannot see what I might be doing wrong.

Thanks

Jim

Jim, what version are you using (check in Help->About)?
Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the "CC Panel"?
That is the Creative Commons panel. In Image Details, click the CC button near the copyright fields. The CC panel allows you to create uniform copyright statements following the Creative Commons standard.

Interesting. I've seen this come up before, but I also had no idea where ccpanel was. After Hert's explanation above, I tried it and got the ccpanel shown above. Then I chose another image, and when I selected the ccpanel, it came up with the OP's error message "Invalid Variant Type Cast (0)".

So it worked the first time, but I cannot get it to come back...

Macbook Pro, running Sierra... Don't know where the ccdata.xml file is???

To add to my reply above... I found the ccdata.xml file in the my Library folder... Deleted it, and restored control of the ccpanel. Only once though, Second time the error returned...

Hi, Hert,
Any progress on this problem? Should I have posted this as a bug seeing that others are having the same problem?

In the list of fixes in build 2576 is:

"When opening the Creative Commons dialog for the second time, it could raise the exception “Cannot convert variant type” in the stand alone version"

Have you updated to 2576?
