New to PSupreme so am just testing the waters. I have installed the 30 day trial and everything seems straight forward with the exception of ability to change the default location for the catalog file and its associated files. As with many programs the install default is always on the boot drive but for many years I have excluded ALL programs from my boot/OS drive (C:) to keep it clean and easily backed up and restored. I put all my software programs on a program drive (D:) and all my data files on a work/data drive (E:). Keeps things very clean and simple as well as easy to backup and restore. So, after much research on this forum and in the quick start guide I find nothing about relocating the default location for the main catalog and image files. I would like to move the main catalog and associated files to my data/work drive (E:). Can any one tell me how to accomplish this. I have already copied the main Catalog folder to E:\07_Pictures\_Dimager Systems IncCatalog\Catalog therefore all I need is directions of how to make this the new default location.
I have added the underscore(_) predecessor in my directory name so that that folder will be at the top of the sort list when I view my 07_Pictures directory.
I will appreciate any help that can be offered.
Default Catalog File Location
Re: Default Catalog File Location
HI Jack,
Vlad is providing the parameters to use when you start PS to link to another DB in this treat:
http://forum.idimager.com/viewtopic.php ... 89#p109152
Scroll a bit down and vlad is explaining how to start the program with the DB name and pwd.
I can't help you myself as im using the server edition, and accordingly I have my DB for PS on a different system (Mac Mini), which of course would be the alternative to use if it won't work with the standalone version, but it sounds what you asked can be done as well. Have a look at that treat.
Hope it helps.
Cheers, Luc

Re: Default Catalog File Location
By default PSu stores data in %localappdata%\IDimager Systems, Inc. (that's on Windows).
You can change this by using the -a command line parameter. You can add this to the 'Target' entry of the PSu shortcut.
For example, for my PSu test environment the Target for my PSu shortcut looks like this:
NB: the catalog itself is actually stored in the 'Catalog' subdirectory of the data directory; but AIUI you want to relocate *all* the data and for that the -a option is best suited.
For more info on all the command line parameters check out 'Quick Manual - maintenance' from the Help menu.
As mentioned in the topic above you can also link to a specific database.

Re: Default Catalog File Location
You can move the catalog to any folder. Then enable the login preferences in PSU and restart. In the login dialog you can select the moved catalog. Once selected you can disable the login dialog again.
