UserName greyed out on Sys Tray login

Postby ian_pop » 26 Jul 10 12:51

Hi, I thought Installation was the most appropriate place. I've had ID Imager 5 pro installed for ages, but....

When I try to launch ID Imager from the system tray I get a password error, then the database login dialogue pops up with the Server Name and Username greyed out, with <user_name> locked in the username field.

I can open ID Imager from the start menu and when I go file> open catalogue database I get the same screen, with the same fields greyed out, but admin locked in the username field.

How can I get the username in the sys tray launch please?

Thanks
Ian

Ian,

create a shortcut and change the properties:

In Target put in something like that
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files (x86)\IDimager Products\IDimager\IDimager.exe" -D "D:\My IDimager\IDI-DB\idimager.cat.db" -P xxxx -U admin -a "D:\My IDimager\application data" -L EN

-D }Database location and Name
-P }Password
-U }User
-A }Application data folder
-L }Language

In the help file, Annex B you can find all parameter...

Now that you have the shortcut - move them to task bar

Hope that helps

Thanks Michael

I'm not sure that helps. The issue I am having is that when I try and open ID Imager from the system tray icon (the file monitor) there is no user in and no way to enter one.

I'm happy changing a registry setting if need be.

Ian,

Sorry, I did not realize you are talking about the File-Monitor...
I don't use the FM at all and can not help you right now with that.

Hi

Doesn't the file monitor use that same command line syntax as the main program ?

Something Like:
"C:\Program Files\IDimager Products\IDimager\IDimagerMonitor.exe" -a C:\idImager_V5_Catalog\ -D C:\idImager_V5_Catalog\MikeP.cat.db -T C:\idImager_V5_Catalog\MikeP.thumbs.db -U admin -P master2004 -folder C:

Thanks

Ian,

MikeP is right; you should be able to use the same syntax for the file monitor.

What strikes me is that you get a locked field in the first place. When launching IDimager from the File Monitor then the most recent used password should be used.

Are you using the ProDesktop or ProSQLServer version?

Thanks

Thanks guys.

It is working now. I must have opened ID Imager from the start menu and then the tray in some order or another so it picked up the username in the sys tray/monitor launch command.

Cheers

I normally have this problem too, but I've just solved it. If you install IDI Pro Desktop and then try to open it via the File Monitor tray icon you have the problem of no user name which you cannot edit. But if you go into IDI via the Start menu and then in the File menu open the catalogue (the same one as you already have open) and then close IDI, opening it via the File Monitor then works.
