Downloader misses out on images

Post by Mikki » 27 Oct 13 19:22

Hi all.

A friend of mine has been using IDI version 5 for several years without any problems. Lately she is experiencing some strange behavior in the downloader: not all selected images get downloaded.
The download process is ended with the dialogue box saying that the download was successful, but a “random” number of the initially selected images are not downloaded.

Opening the downloaded once again proves that IDI in fact is aware of the missing download, as those missing out are from the first download are all marked for download.

My friend is running IDI version 5.1.1.2 on a Windows 7 PC with lots of available disk space. Apparently nothing has changed in her PC that could have caused this malfunction of IDI.
Do you guys have any suggestions as to what possible can be done to make IDI download all marked images?

Mikki,

If the images that were skipper are marked after reopening the downloaded, then that means that those images weren't copied. They are either skipped or they have an error while copying.

Could it be that your friend has the option to skip existing images? Maybe (s)he uses a rename rule that generates identical file names? Maybe burst shots?

I wonder if the memory card or the card reader is perhaps malfunctioning.

Hi Hert and Mike.

Thanks for your input and suggestions.
The downloader is not using the option to skip existing images nor is a renaming rule defined.

When the dwnloader is run again, the remaining images (those missed in the first session) are downloaded.

Mike, several memory cards have been tested - same result. However the card reader *could* be the source of the problem.
Hert, will IDI end a download a session with a successful completion dialogue box, if the session is interrupted by hardware?
