Poll: How many images do you have in your catalog?

Post by Hert » 31 Jul 09 10:23

Just wondering how many images you all have in your catalog database. You can find the number by opening the Catalog Manager and then read the count from the lower left corner.

Thanks for your feedback!

I have 70400 pictures in my database and I`m impressed by how well Idimager performs with so many pictures.

Thank you all for casting your vote on this poll. I really appreciate it and the results are definitely valuable.

I'm wondering who voted for the 500k and up option though. I'd like some more info about that.

Thanks

I have around 35K, VERY extensively catalogued images, with label relationships.
Performance is still good...

Dmitri.

edit:
One notice though, catalogue tree expands very slowly if there are a lot of labels in the same branch (i.e. People category). Some tweaking could take place...

Hi Dmitri

in V5 it will be faster to expand a node with many sub nodes.

Thank for pointing this out.

I have 52000 images (mostly JPG-RAW pairs though. I guess for the catalog these are individual images, even if for me they are versions?)

Tom,

That's correct. That is the number of images that you're managing with IDimager... versioned or not... they are all maintained in the database.

Thanks for your input

I currently have 40,000+ images in the catalog and another 80,000 + to add. System works well and Idimager is great.

Approching 80,000 pictures in my databease (handled by Thumbsplus). 12,445 of that in the IDI catalog so far. Does not find the time to catalog all. Hope for a bad winter to do more.

Some 160000 images´.
Using ThumbsPlus at the moment, considering to convert to IDImager, if lossless converting the database (including "Galleries") is possible.

I have 648 images. I shoot 4x5 primarily, so my number of images is quite small, comparatively.

I make up for fewer images by having big files that IDI needs to crunch. Many of the files are 500MB, up to just over 1GB in a couple of cases.
I have a few thumbs showing 'out-of-memory' errors. I am looking into the cause at my end, and will post about this later.

I really like IDI!!! It's a great program that I will recommend to my large format friends.

Cheers and Thanks,

--Preston
