LMAO. I now have the opposite problem: I can start On1 from PSU, but it won't start from the desktop icon. LOL
I think it's time for a refund.
EDIT. On a hunch, I looked at the program properties and it was back to running normally - NOT as administrator - On1 had updated. Changing to ...

Re: On1 Photo Raw
@OldRadioGuy & @wesstl
I'm not using On1 for database reasons, just to edit using Develop and Effects, like OldRadioGuy said, that's why I needed to call it from PSU - which I use to manage the photos.

Re: On1 Photo Raw
OK. So, I decided to uninstall On1, and re-install while making sure it was set to "All users" - didn't make a difference.
Thanks to Hert, setting PSU to run as Administrator...worked!!
I also tried what smadell suggested, "verify quick" and I thought it didn't work until I scrolled to the bottom ...

Re: On1 Photo Raw
Hmmm.
OK. Thanks for the input, I'll try to dig a bit more as far as launching On1, and yes, I am on Windows.
Also, thanks for the "Verify folder" tip - for some reason I thought the program would scan for changes automatically.

On1 Photo Raw
Hi all, I bought On1 Photo Raw before seeing this post: https://forum.idimager.com/viewtopic.php?t=35098
But I am willing to try it since they have a 30 day money back.
The problem I'm having is that I can't call it from PSU - I have RawTherapee and Darktable installed and they both work. I'm not ...

Re: What, exactly is "Synchronize Service"?
Interesting.
Since I have Geotagged all the photos, and identified landmarks as well as some people I guess I'll leave well enough alone and keep updating the xmp + file, when applicable.
Thanks for all the help.

Re: What, exactly is "Synchronize Service"?
Thanks G8DHE.
I thought that might be it, but the "Service" confused me a bit.
Is there an advantage to holding metadata within the image vs xmp files? I can see that having the database itself is useful as a backup, so I guess I'll keep that default.

What, exactly is "Synchronize Service"?
I've searched this forum and found a bunch of posts about slow, or excessive "Synchronize Service", but I still don't understand what exactly is being synchronized.
BTW, the program seems to do this Synchronize quite a bit on my PC - I am making allowances since I'm currently doing a global ...

Re: A GPS question
I'm actually doing that now - it's just that I was hoping all the time I spent using GeoSetter was not wasted, but sadly it was.

Re: A GPS question
Thanks.
I did try “Convert Metadata to XMP” on one folder, but I'm going to wait until I Geotag all 33K files and I'll do the conversion in one shot.

Re: A GPS question
Ah. So the raw files have a sidecar file. Like CR2, ARW etc.
Any idea why PSU doesn't read the GPS info in the DNGs? Both RawTherapee & IrfanView see the coordinates.

Re: A GPS question
Sorry, but I am still a bit confused with how PSU seems to be working.
I did what Hert suggested and converted Metadata to XMP.
Now, when I look at the dates of the files in Windows Explorer, I see this:
_IMG_2167.CR2 5/9/2024 (That's when I copied all the files from my NAS to a local "D:" drive ...

Re: A GPS question
LOL. I may have found a VERY awkward workaround.
I used IrfanView to look at a photo and under "Image Information -> EXIF Info", I can click on "Show in Google Maps". I get that information and plug it into "Image Content -> Location -> lookup". Luckily I keep all the photos on a location together ...

Re: A GPS question
Thanks Hert.
I tried that but I'm not sure what I should be seeing. Also, should I do this for all my photos?
Some folders are a bit of a mess. I might have all the following:
_MG_7343.cr2
_MG_7343.cr2.xmp
_MG_7343.xmp
Would it be of benefit to delete ALL the xmp files and recreate them? I hope ...

A GPS question
Hi all, I'm brand new to this forum as I've just bought the software.
I'm somewhat confused about the GPS date not being shown.
I have over 33 thousand photos, mostly in RAW formats, and I used DXO Deep Prime to convert them to DNG files. For instance, I have a CR2 file along with a DNG file. So ...
