Re: Adding folders and files via Verify Folder locks up PSu
I was holding off activity until this bug was resolved. As there hasn't been any further comments here since "4934 Fix for possible application stall during Verify Folder" 3 weeks ago, I'm guessing the bug was fixed. Thanks Hert.

Re: Adding folders and files via Verify Folder locks up PSu
lots of people seem to be experiencing this - see viewtopic.php?p=134649#p134649 - would that suggest the GPU driver theory is unrelated given report here is for Apple?

Re: what does a very-dim-catalog label in ctrl+F list mean?
Just a quick progress report on this topic: Hert identified there was some " cache table that wasn't filled correctly " in a prior database upgrade. Hert was able to fix my 500MB photosupreme.cat.db & it all appears to be working again now. Great support. Happy new year to all & especially Hert.

Re: what does a very-dim-catalog label in ctrl+F list mean?
Some further info during an intensive cataloging session...
I have a top level category named "other-metadata". On further examination, it appears that any ctrl+F results which relate to this category are very dim. For example I have a nested category other-metadata > theme > accident, as shown ...

what does a very-dim-catalog label in ctrl+F list mean?
From Categories > ctrl+F > sometimes the list contains barely visible labels - what does these results signify? Whatever it means, I suggest the labels are slightly more visible (for months before writing this post I had actually thought the results were totally blank!). For example ctrl+F "sign ...

For anyone's interest, my post above has resulted in Build 4581; "Fix for possible rename collision causing files to overwrite each other". Thanks Hert.

file(s) silently deleted when Rename Files results in duplicate file name
I auto-bracket my photos, generally resulting in 3 files with the same EXIF DateTime(s). I generally manually delete 2 of the files before importing into PSu. Then I select+all (ctrl+A) & rename the file(s) (ctrl+shift+R) to have names like <YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.JPG>. You can spot the potential issue - 2 ...

FWIW ~27,000 images took ~30 minutes on a fairly basic (these days) Windows PC compared to what many users on this forum are using.

Sure - the easier part - but not contents/ index/ glossary. Anyway, was just a thought bubble.
