Re: Compacting Database Error Message
The real problem is the need of more than double of database while compacting.
And the real real problem is the lack of knowledge in database programming as there is obviously no optimisation during runtime.
Sad news for you, Link648099, you chose one of the poorest projects available. Run as ...

Re: Compacting Database Error Message
macOS Finder reports free space but counts cached files as “free space” while it is not available for applications. Use DiskUtil to see the real free disk space.
Search online on how to clean up the macOS cache files. It should free a lot of space for you.
Does that help?
Hert, thanks for ...

Re: Photo Supreme V2024 is released
Quick update on my HEIC embedding project:
Hert, your method of running the script seems to do well with small amounts of files, maybe a dozen or two. I tried it on all my HEIC files (about 4,000) multiple times and it would hang and not do anything (spinning beach ball). Tried it on about 900 and ...

Re: Photo Supreme V2024 is released
You could use this approach:
1. In Types, select HEIC
2. Select all files (try with a few first)
3. Right click on a selected file and select "Run Script from Repository -> Metadata -> Import from sidecar XMP file".
4. If you have auto sync switched on then that will update the HEIC files, if not ...

Re: Photo Supreme V2024 is released
Thanks Hert!
I've already purchased and downloaded it. Super excited about face recognition and being able to write metadata to HEIC images.
In my initial testing I noticed catalog labels and some other metadata weren't getting embedded in HEIC images.
Is that expected?

Build 5078 Crashes While Geotagging
I'm using Build 5078 on an Apple M1 Pro MacBook Pro with 32GB RAM running Sonoma 14.1.2. My catalog and all images are kept on a Samsung T7 2 TB SSD connected via USB-C.
What I'm experiencing:
1. Geotagging seems more sluggish than usual. Geotagging 87 jpgs (via the Favorites tab in the Geotag ...

Re: Photo Supreme Build 5027 Hangs Frequently
Use Tools -> Build Missing Thumbnails and Previews to make sure that all thumbnails and previews are built.
Don't close the application or cancel the thumb building process before it is finished.
Sounds good, I will do that in the future.
But just now I went to ingest 300 photos and this is ...

Re: Photo Supreme Build 5027 Hangs Frequently
I'm noticing a new issue now as well. I ingested one folder holding roughly 13,000 photos in it (spread around several layers of more folders) and it's only building thumbnails on the pictures that are presently in view. If I let it sit it will only build thumbnails for the pictures on the screen ...

Re: Photo Supreme Build 5027 Hangs Frequently
Oh, also while ingesting it will do its thing up until it reaches 99.9% and then it'll just stop. Won't hang with the beachball, but it won't finish either. I have to X it out and hope it actually finished whatever it was doing at the time.

Yes, I compacted it a day or two ago. I had the issues before and still have them afterwards.fbungarz wrote: 05 Oct 23 19:14 Have you compacted the database recently? On my system (Windows 10) build 5027 works just fine.

Photo Supreme Build 5027 Hangs Frequently
I'm getting a lot of hangups with PS Build 2023.2.0.5027. This is happening both on my M1 Pro Sonoma MacBook Pro and my non-Sonoma Intel iMac.

Build 4940: Batch "Rename File" Raised Errors
Just updated to Build 4940 and started getting these errors when I batch rename files. The program overall seems to be extra buggy now too. I've seen it hang on versioning and saving metadata to file too.
The batch rename problem is happening on both my iMac (intel) and my MacBook (M1 Pro ...
