Yes, they are already on a hard disk and I am importing them to a new location on the hard disk and trying to write back to them on the hard disk. No SD card is involved.

I checked and all my Synchronize Settings are set to allow writing out Catalog changes to the image file and the file is not read only. I only have this problem with this particular set of images from this particular photographer. I've never had any sync issues before with any other file imports.

Thanks for the responses. When re-mapping to the new folder location, I did use the recommended procedure, but it resulted in the path I outlined above, i.e., the new, correct path followed by the old path appended to the new. I just tried the same procedure to re-map again, but it hung this time.

2. Select the Images - Right Click - Metadata - Save Metadata to file
3. Highlight on one of the images in the collection viewer

Don't edit keywords, work with Catalog Labels instead.

Maybe I am misunderstanding the problem but if you "delete" the catalog label from the image by using the Assign Panel and the Sync the image the "keywords" should be removed from the image details?
