Like JimiV I am also thinking of using lightroom although from what I have seen of it so far it lacks a lot of what made IDI great and I think the migration is going to be a big issue.
I'd rather not abandon IDI but I also worry about the future (new OS and cameras plus software changes to ...

Re: file-manager
I think they are just trying to go for the bigger market share as we Pro's are a limited lot, and they do need to maintain a revenue.

Re: file-manager
Craig,
Will IDimager support continue & will outstanding bugs be addressed?
IDimager is discontinued, so the answer is no.
Well that's a real shame because you have killed off one of the best DAM systems a working professional could ask for and replaced it with a toy.
I wish you luck with ...

Re: file-manager
PSU is a DAM tool, not a File Manager. Use a File Manager for this; for instance Windows Explorer.
Sorry Hert, but that's a ridiculous statement. File Management is part of the DAM process. DAM systems manages files so how the can you say File Manager is not part of a DAM system. It might not be ...

Re: Sadly lacking ...
You can't create more.
You can select multiple images, add them to the Image Basket, go to the IB, select all, cut/paste them to a portfolio,
But that adds considerable overhead to my workflow.
I have several virtual collections in IDimager. Each one represents a queue of images that need ...

Re: file-manager
Without the old file manager how I can create new folders?
Also how can I see the total size of all images in a folder - I need to know this so that my folders don't grow larger than the backup medium they mirror?
How can I move multiple folders?
These are all regular housekeeping tasks I need to ...

Mi Mike,
Yes you are right. I'd not got that far to realise they're pretty much useless now - just another portfolio really.
Having invested literally hundreds of hours versioning the majority of my important images over the past few years, I'm thoroughly hacked off to discover it's had all it's ...

They are there, but they've moved. Look under CATALOG --> By Portfoliomphillips wrote:And yes - unfortunately Virtual Collections are no longer - a real loss
Versioning seems to have been severely crippled though. I can't see any way to synchronise metadata to all versions in a set. Utter madness!

Chages made in 3rd party software not recognised
IDimager user here trying out Supreme.
Not sure if this is supposed to work like this, but Supreme doesn't seem to recognise that changes have been made to images by third party software. It doesn't recognise these images as being out of sync, or better still automatically update the metadata ...
