I used to use Lightroom. Then I used IDI for many years, tried ADC went back to IDI and now I'm using PS. Even purchased it, thanks to the generous upgrade(?) offer by Hert et al.
But. I dislike two things.
One is the fact that I can't stop comparing PS to IDI, ADC even LR. I know Hert doesn't like ...

Re: Catalog state - Stacking
I've come a little late to this discussion, but just wanted to say that, in ID5 I use both stacking and versions. The distinction is quite clear and their usage is completely different. While versions only require one image to be displayed (with hidden images being easily available in PSU with a ...

Re: Dynamic Searching. How?
That does not give me what I need, as I have told you . Twice.
But ok. I give up.
You obviously are not reading our posts and consider that what the customer wants does not need to be taken very seriously.
PS doesn't do what I need and IDI does. So I shall simply forget about PS and stick with IDI ...

Re: Dynamic Searching. How?
But that is almost what I am talking about. And what I opened this topic with.
Very professional reply. Love it!
Perhaps I should have said (A+B) but not (C or D or E or F, etc)
Yes, that is easy to do - but I have to repeat, it presupposes that I know the full range I need to exclude.
I quite ...

Re: Dynamic Searching. How?
Oh Hert, please! From the difficulty you appeared to have in understanding my point, I am led to believe that this functionality in IDI is nothing more than a bug... But it works, and yes, we use it. Personally, due to repeat orders, etc, I use it all the time. What is so strange about wanting to ...

Re: Dynamic Searching. How?
Thank you Geoff. That is exactly what I said when I started this topic.
Tom also agreed.
How many more out there?
Hert, listen to your buying public.
We need this search ability: bring it back.

Re: Dynamic Searching. How?
The filter bar is additive, at least from what I can see. Once again I CANNOT exclude labels - unless I really am being stupid.
And even if the bar allowed me to exclude these labels, it appears to work one label at a time.
Admit it Hert, you've screwed up what was one of the most important aspects ...

Re: Dynamic Searching. How?
Hert,
To type in '-C-D-E-F-G' etc, or right-clicking on about thirty names is a nonsense because it presupposes that I know which names to exclude... And that goes for both the dynamic search and search boxes. The problem is that I know that I have pictures of A+B, I just don't know any longer (long ...

Re: Dynamic Searching. How?
Thanks for that, Tom.
At least it shows me that I am not missing anything.
This is one of the key areas for me, and one which puts IDI above most other similar software on the market.
I shall continue to use V5, at least until I have to get a new PC with an OS that will not run IDI!
Then I'll try ...

Dynamic Searching. How?
Situation: 10,000+ pictures of people, some alone, all with two or three other people.
For person 'A' I have 200 pictures, 25 alone, 65 with person 'B', 15 with person 'C', 26 with persons 'B' and 'C' - well, you get the 'picture'.
Similarly, person 'B' will have a number alone, a number with person ...
