Re: Rename and move DB
I was a Media Pro user through two product owners. Before that I used Canto Cumulus. I struggled with each transition to a new program (typically forced by product abandonment or by equipment changes on my side). The easiest transition of these was moving from Media Pro to Idimager because Hert and ...

Re: Direct import from Macos Photos into Photo Supreme?
Thank you, Hert. As usual your response is clear and helpful.
To your question, we plan to stop using the Photos application in favor of Photo Supreme. In our new plan, all photos will be stored on an external SSD, so they will be physically moved there during the migration to Photo Supreme. Do you ...

Direct import from Macos Photos into Photo Supreme?
Please pardon me if this information is already available in the manual or the Forum. I have made a cursory look in both places and did not find an answer.

Re: Experienced User Lost in a New Paradigm . . .
The embedded (moderate quality) jpg is part of the raw file, no separate jpg file is necessary to produce the grid view thumbnail or the preview in Photo Supreme. That said, the camera does a great job (as you know) of producing a pretty high quality jpg image. So for expediency my camera is set to ...

Re: Experienced User Lost in a New Paradigm . . .
1. Raw files typically have an embedded lower resolution jpeg image as a preview. For my needs and camera, this preview as displayed by Photo Supreme is quite adequate.

Re: Experienced User Lost in a New Paradigm . . .
Paul, I think you'll come to really appreciate RAW files, but it seems like you're biting off a really big chunk as you make the transition.

Re: DxO PhotoLab anyone ?
Great question, Frank.
In response, I fired up PhotoLab, noticed there was an update to version 2.3 available, installed that to make sure that I could offer the most current info.
Then I tried opening some dng files in PhotoLab. The dng files are from my Android phone and they would not open in ...

Re: DxO PhotoLab anyone ?
I have been using DxO PhotoLab for a few years. The current version continues to refine and integrate it's interaction with the Nik plug-ins, and they are doing good things with it. I use PhotoLab mainly for it's ability to do marvelous things with raw files. I do not use PhotoLab to alter or manage ...

Unable to migrate to new computer
This is almost certainly user error on my part, but I have made three unsuccessful attempts and my old machine is close to maxed out on storage space, so I'm feeling a sense of urgency.
The old PC is running Windows 8.1 64-bit, the new one is running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.
Both machines are running ...
