Thank you. After several hours it did indeed finish.
If there is some way make the progress dialog show progress rather than look like a hung program that would improve the user experience. Seeing the journal file come and go was the only reason I thought it might be still working. A progress bar ...

Doesn't appear DB is updating properly
I have a couple of different Photo Supreme databases. Today I wanted to access one where the files sit on a Synology NAS. PS wanted to update the database to be compatible with the latest version running on Windows 8 Pro 64 bit. After getting to the third update dialog box, the process stops showing ...

Re: Do You Use PSU With Lightroom and DNG Files?
Step (4) is an import. If I then go back to PSU and make a change to metadata, I need to manually update in LR for it to appear (LR sets a flag that there is a change). In LR, the metadata automatically updates into the file. I believe you're right about PSU not flagging a change automatically, but ...

Re: Do You Use PSU With Lightroom and DNG Files?
Geoff,
Don't have Lightroom 5.x, but did the following test with what I do have...
1) Generate DNG in DxO Optics Pro (it can generate them, but can't read them)
2) Use exiftool to add some keywords to the DNG
3) Add the DNG to a PSU database; Geocode/Reverse Geocode; add another label; add ...

Re: How to store DxO Optics Pro sidecar files (.dop)
Hert,
Many thanks for considering inclusion of .dop sidecars. Sounds like some other folks had good suggestions for how to deal with all the sidecars from various raw converters and not make too much overhead. Would you prefer this be listed in Mantis as a feature request?

How to store DxO Optics Pro sidecar files (.dop)
DxO is one of the tools I use for RAW conversion which end up creating sidecar files with a .dop extension. Is there a way to manage these files inside PSU? I was thinking you might be able to create a "version" type for these, but haven't seen anyway of importing them into the catalog. I suppose ...

Re: Creation of catalog place labels from IPTC location fiel
Hert,
Thank you very much! Makes life easier for sure.
I don't always populate the "location" field of the IPTC data as it's often a duplicate of the "city" field anyways. You end up with an "unknown" label if it's left empty. I'm going take a look at the code to see if there is a way of ...

A little bit of progress...

Creation of catalog place labels from IPTC location fields
I'm trying to develop a new workflow which includes geocoding/reverse geocoding by first using Geosetter before importing the files in PS.
Geosetter first geocodes lat/long and reverse geocode location info into the IPTC fields (Country Name, State, City ...). I then import the files into PS, and ...

Re: I actually like this program...
I concur with the original poster's overall impression. This is a program which I really hope eventually gets a large following in the marketplace. I've been using it for a couple of days now, and have also found it much more accessible than IDi. I REALLY want to start using this program and making ...

How do you delete a portfolio
Just downloaded the trial version (Windows 7 Pro 64bit) and started playing around with the catalog structure. I could start building a label heirarchy just fine and delete or modify the "starter" ones which were predefined. However, when I switch to "Portfolio" view, you have this "Mijn eerste ...
