Re: Manual
I too was surprised that there is not a more substantial manual. As I've discussed in another thread, I've been trying to understand versioning, but without the kind of documentation that I expected, I'm finding it impossible. Will there be a full user's manual at some point?

Re: Need primer on versioning
Thanks to both of you for that input. I notice that I had posted on this forum about versioning in Idimager years ago, so out of curiosity I looked back and saw that that program had an option for determining how it chose the files for each version set. My frustration with Photo Supreme is that (a ...

Re: Need primer on versioning
Thanks for the input. I give up. I tried this on other folders, with the same result. Ctrl-r did nothing to help. I assume that the "main version detection scope" setting is wrong and should be something other than the default, but when I cross out the default, nothing else appears. In the absence ...

Re: Need primer on versioning
Here's an example. I get 8 version sets each of which has the following files (where X is the common file name): X-30.NEF; X-3.NEF; X-31.NEF; X-32.NEF; X-32-edit.tif; X-33.NEF; X-34.NEF and X-35.NEF. Each of the sets has a different one of these as the thumbnail. Then it gets stranger: I get two ...

Re: Need primer on versioning
When I ran the version detection tool I got a number of version sets that include different photos that have similar but not identical filenames. I suspect that the answer lies in the preferences section (catalog settings/main version detection scope), but without some guidance as to what goes in ...

Need primer on versioning
As I consider Photo Supreme, it seems to me that the one area where it might be more helpful than Lightroom for my fairly basic needs is in its versioning capabilities. However, the materials I've found don't give me a good understanding of how to use versioning. Is there a set of basic instructions ...

Re: Why and how to use with Lightroom
My cataloging needs are fairly simple. I use keywords and ratings. I have occasional needs to search, but usually I can find what I need through the folder structure.

Re: Why and how to use with Lightroom
Thanks for that, but what I'm not fully getting is what I get in exchange for the added complexity.

Why and how to use with Lightroom
I would describe myself as an enthusiast, but distinctly non-professional. I am a happy Lightroom user. I know that Photo Supreme has a loyal user base, and if it can improve my experience, while playing well with Lightroom, I'm open to using it. I would be grateful for an understanding of how my ...
