Re: Error: Not a writeable directory

Is there any way I can determine exactly which path is not writable?

Re: Error: Not a writeable directory

I just noticed tonight that the directory I keep my databases in is marked with an "R", though none of the files (including the sqlite datbases) is marked with an R. I've tried making the directory non-read-only but have not succeeded (right-click properties). I even added read-only and then removed...

Re: Error: Not a writeable directory

Does PSU use the archive file attribute to help determine if a file has been changed?

Re: Error: Not a writeable directory

Interesting. I checked my environment variables and C:\Windows\Temp is my temp folder. My C drive has 16GB free, and the temp folder does not have read only access set (and I deleted several files from it). I have not upgraded my harddisk recently... Thinking back, I believe this started around the ...

Error: Not a writeable directory

So recently I started getting the following error on startup (before any splash screen or main window): Information ----------- Unable to connect to the database. The database reports: SQLITE_ERROR - not a writable directory [OK] If I click ok I get a dialog saying "cannot connect to the database," ...

Re: Which date is which?

Yeah, jstartin's reply makes some sense... my biggest problem is how to fix the files so I dont have to manually set the dates on every file!

Re: Which date is which?

So my import filename settings are: yyyymmdd-%FileName And when I do this on 2017-01-27 for a photo taken on 2016-12-05 I get a filename like this: 20161205-IMG_0290.jpg But when I look at the photo date in PSU (%yyyy-%mm-%dd on the custom thumbnail, or by opening the re-date dialog), I see 2017-01-...

Re: Which date is which?

Yes, the date in the modify date dialog is the picture's PSU-recognized date/time.

So yeah, I guess what I'm saying is that the date recognized by PSU "after" import is different than the date recognized "during" import.

Which date is which?

So I import pictures and use "picture taken" date to create a prefix for the filename. Everything is good and the datestring in the filename is what I expect. But then I hit ctrl+shift+d and the date is the current date/time (when the pictures were imported). If PSU knows the date to make the correc...

Re: Growing collection of unsynced images

Don't know if its related, but I've noticed that "synch all unsynched images" menu item appears to not find any unsynched images. If I go to the catalog state, select all, and then right-click to synch, PS synchs most of them (haven't tested enough). I'm using 2076, could this be part of the reason ...

Re: Beta 3.3 version

I didnt think assigning data before importing worked. I could be wrong, but I tried assigning catalog labels before importing and had issues.

I guess I figured that since the assign and details panes could be used from the importer, I could just do all of my metadata and then import.

Re: Confusion about import dates

i too have seen different dates. I rename on import using %yyyy %mm and %dd, which I also use for a subfolder name. I have seen photos come in with the correct filename date, but incorrect metadata or folder names. To me it seems like it pulls the dates from different parts of the metadata. I think ...

Re: Manual

Is PSU being updated too fast for a manual? With IDImager I might have agreed... but given the current release cycle? Forums, while helpful (though note the drastic slowdown in posting since Hert has cut back on his posts), are no substitute for good documentation. There are posts from years ago tha...

Re: gaps in documentation?

Stephen, I agree with your concern. Years ago the comment was made that documentation was not updated because it would limit the number of minor releases. The current trend, however, is longer between minor releases, especially past about April or so. If this is the new norm, I would like to see bet...
