Re: download/import skips images
It depends on what the rename script in the profile generates. In this case the script generates a sequenced file name (afaik). So if two threats call the script at the same time then the target file name will be a duplicate.
Isn't that a design issue (or limitation, at least)? Could it be ...

Re: download/import skips images
Shouldn't that happen only for duplicates? Could non-duplicate files end up with identical names?Hert wrote: 04 Dec 18 9:41 This makes sense. The Import Process uses a lot of concurrent threads and if two files are calling the script at the exact same time, they may get the same number returned from the file name script.

Re: No way to delete a category label
Reinstalling the OS seems extreme to me (unless you have other problems outside PSU) and it may not solve your labelling issues. Have you tried deleting any label outside the People and Events categories? Does that fail too? Can you turn off the automatic writing of metadata? Does that help?

Re: Parent / Subfolder thumbnail view option?
Yes, there is: just click on the counter for the parent folder, in the catalog explorer. This trick works in the Folders view, as well as in any other view.

Excellent point - I'd expect the same behaviour too. Please add a note of support for the requested enhancement: http://mantis.idimager.com/view.php?id=2187

Re: date sort of major category
Hi Patrick,
I think you could select all pictures in the 'plants' category (by clicking right on the image counter for the category), then choose the appropriate sort order in the View settings for the collection.

Re: Places hierarchy and labels generated from geotags
(Of course, that won't help people who already renamed them.)
Actually for these people it would even be worse, because they could then not rename them back.
Good point, but the renaming could be turned off only if the original name is actually used.

Re: how to display jpg on version set
Just make sure you don't click the image counter in the folder view, since that would trigger hierarchical viewing, including subfolders.Mke wrote: In folder view, you can also get around both being visible by putting the RAW files in a subfolder.

Re: Places hierarchy and labels generated from geotags
The use of internal ids is sound practice, the hard coding less so and it would be nice to be able to select a new category as the target, which would get round the situation I have.
I concur. One way to achieve that, as well as other goodies, would be to open up the category-dependent behavior ...

Hi, are you saying that you've set the jpg's as the Main versions but you're still seeing the Raw subversions in your collection? Which collection (view) do you employ?

Re: A few newby questions
Hi Simone,
when I use View by Category or View by Portfolio only the main version is shown. However if I do a Dynamic Search, for example date = 2017 AND (boolean) Status = Geotagged, I see all images belonging to a version set side by side. This is not what I expected based on the above ...

Hi Simone,
I do the culling (and eventual rating) in PSu using the full screen view. However I am at loss when comparing and picking the best among a group of similar images. The Light Table does not do exactly what I want; what I really would like is something that works as the compare function ...

Re: Frequent freezes while doing folder management - Mac
I'm just following up on Hert's question and suggesting some other things to try out: can you try (re)importing the parent folder after adding several subfolders? Does that (reliably) work? Long shot, but did you try compacting the database and/or restarting the machine?

Re: FTS expression tree
You could leave the image files as they are, but you might want to use quotes when searching for file names.
