I want to copy the entire collection (contains CR2, TIFF, JPG ...

Re: batch file format conversion fails to save metadata
Hert,
yes, the tiff files are synced in PSU. The information is written to the tiff files and can be read with exiftool.

Re: batch file format conversion fails to save metadata
Did I misunderstand how the batch file conversion should work? Should it actually create jpg copies of my catalog labeled tiff images with the catalog labels if I mark the box in the file conversion setup to "write metadata if available"?

batch file format conversion fails to save metadata
I have a lot of scanned tif images that have been cataloged with names, places and dates. I wanted to create high quality jpg copies of these with the same catalog information. I used the batcher, selected file conversion, told it the folder I wanted the new images in, selected the jpg quality 100 ...

Thanks Hert!
That macro sort was exactly what I wanted!

That worked well. It also pointed out to me that what I really want is a sort by month and day, skipping the year. I want to see what pictures were taken on a particular day regardless of the year. I suspect that a script could do this since I see script as an option in the sort ...

date sort of major category
I have a major category "plants" containing subcategories of specific plant species. I thought it would be interesting to see ALL of the pictures in the major category, but sorted by date, not by subcategory. This would allow tracking the bloom order of different species.

exiftool shows keyword segment getting bigger
I have been using PSU to assign keywords to pictures to share with family members. I have used EXIFTOOL 9.9 to look at what is being placed in the file and discover that the keywords section just keeps growing and growing. It contains the same labels written over and over. Multi word labels are ...

windows tools for managing labels/keywords wo PSU
I will be scanning and sharing old family photos and I will use PSU to assign labels to pictures that will become keywords that family members can use standard tools to read and modify. Different family members will be able to identify different people. Most will NOT be able to purchase/use Photo ...

Re: toggle display of face detect areas on/off
I would vote for the toggle on/off in almost any mode just like you don't always want to see the assigned labels on top of the picture.

toggle display of face detect areas on/off
I am scanning and identifying a group of old family photos so face detection should be very useful. I have done detection and assigned labels to identify people in photos that show multiple people. However, I don't always want to see the detected/assigned areas displayed over the photo when it is ...

Is there a tool to allow moving from the standalone version to the postgresql version? I have over 70K images and really don't want to have to import all of them again.
