Re: Strange unexplained behaviour

PSU will open TIF locally. Is your extension TIF or TIFF? Also make sure that you don't have the TIF or TIFF extension added in Preferences-File Handling as a non image format. The file termination is .tif with one f only. I am not sure what you mean in the second line of your reply. In the Prefere...

Strange unexplained behaviour

I have found some behaviour today that I never saw before and while I have identified when it is triggered, I cannot explain it. I have edited some tiff images in Photoshop using Nik filters and saved as multilayered tiffs. The images have been opened in PS from PSu. After saving and verifying the f...

Re: Colour management, again...

I am a bit wary of doing that because the whole Mac OS X is colour managed, and this seems like applying colour correction twice. Yes, I overlooked that Macs may be different. Pursuing this out of curiosity, I've come across this from Apple's 2014 Technical Note TN2313 : "It is imperative you use c...

Re: Colour management, again...

simato73, I don't know if these will be helpful or not, but I found this discussion regarding the location of the icc profiles and copying them to new locations: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7383327 A tutorial, with screen shots: http://www.redrivercatalog.com/profiles/how-to-install-printe...

Re: Colour management, again...

PSU for macOS looks in /System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ Could the place where PSU looks be made configurable? Or conversely, how could i copy my own profiles to this directory? OSX doesn't let me (not in Finder, not in terminal, not even with sudo). Hert, what HCS wrote is important. I have also...

Re: Access to Mantis

Hi Michael, Thanks for replying. I am not sure whether anybody has already done something, but when I went again to Mantis this time I did not get the usual message "the account has not been verified". So I was able to reset my password and access Mantis. I think no further action is necessary, than...

Re: Colour management, again...

While I'm not an expert in the subject, for completeness I should add that, even if you have you've set your monitor to use your Colormunki settings in Windows 'Device Settings' (so it adjusts your monitor globally across all programs) you should still use the color managed settings described above...

Re: Colour management, again...

Your monitor should be using the profile generated by your Colormunki. That was the case originally but at a later stage I saved the result of the profiling with the name I am currently using. So DELL U2711_D65 is the current profile. The image I am looking at is a Fuji XT2 raw file. I agree that t...

Re: Colour management, again...

With a bit more tinkering I am finding that in my case colours are displayed consistently to other applications if sRGB is chosen both as input and output profile. Display colour management must be on; the Use colour management to generate thumbnails tick box seems to make no difference (tried re-ge...

Access to Mantis

Hi, I have requested access to Mantis weeks ago (I understand this is a separate thing to a forum account). I did not receive the confirmation email (I am sure it did not end up in the trash) and after waiting some time contacted the board administrator for help, again without response. At this poin...

Colour management, again...

Hi, As others before, I have problems of PSu showing colours not consistently to many other applications I use. I am on a Mac, I use a colour managed workflow and regularly profile my monitor (using a Colormunki). The vast majority of my files are AdobeRGB; my monitor displays 99% of the AdobeRGB sp...

Re: Please help me develop a workflow

Use your camera to take a photo of the time on your phone. You can then compare the time the image was taken (from the image file properties) and the time displayed in the photo to easily calculate the offset. However you'll find that the GPS location may still be significantly out, since the GPS o...

Re: What is your workflow?

Reverse geotag. (Done with a batch action) [still not entirely satisfied with the location names I get from this I assume this is down to the particular database that is used by PSU; I have no ideas if there are any alternatives (and if so what limits may be placed on numbers of lookups, what level...
