Hi fbungarz,
This is quite exciting! Speaking more as a scientist than a photographer using PSu
I guess I don't have much to suggest towards the approach you suggest. Area tagging boggles my mind.
From a scientific point of view, I am quite curious as to why you still use TLC while you ...

Re: FTS expression tree is too large message
All problems solved, thank you Hert.
The catalog is larger than before, but not excessively so.

Hi Hert,
Sorry I was away on holidays.
I update the software promptly whenever there is a notification.
The error message above remained throughout July, it appeared every time I tried to compact the database.

Re: FTS expression tree is too large message
That was definitely not the reason. There are plenty of other files containing a dash in the name and in the past it has not been a problem.
I keep having the same problem compressing the catalog.
Any suggestion of what could I try to trace the origin of the problem and fix it?
Thanks,
Simone

Re: FTS expression tree is too large message
I just found out in the last import I mistakenly used a dash - instead of an underscore _ in my naming.
That is probably what has caused the message, will confirm when I have batch renamed the files.

FTS expression tree is too large message
I get the title message when I try to compress the catalog.
I know there is another old thread mentioning FTS expression tree is too large, but the context seems to be different.
I haven't deleted or moved files outside recently, which could have caused the message.
While I could live ignoring it ...

Re: Type filter shows only "All JPG" in v7
With build 4303 the old options for Versioning have been reintroduced and all has gone back to the way it was - this is great.
Thank you Hert!

Re: Type filter shows only "All JPG" in v7
I must admit I have a preference for the term Versions where its the same image that has been processed in different ways.
Stacks already has a meaning in things like astronomical photography where you have a stack of similar but not identical images that are then combined to generate a single ...

Hi,
I reported the same issue or a very similar related one in this thread: https://forum.idimager.com/viewtopic.php?t=29911
In my case I am not able to view tif files in a version set. In my workflow TIFs are derivative files, which having been created in a second stage are not the main version ...

Thanks, I have seen the thread and it seems a slightly different manifestation of the same issue.
I therefore will continue the discussion on that thread.

v7 unable to display tif files
Hi,
I just updated to v7 (7.0.1.4290) and am finding the following.
I usually take RAW or RAW + JPG images from the camera (different raw formats depending on the camera). Then I work on my selects in Capture One and save a TIF for them, that I import in PSu. The 2-3 files are stacked versions of ...

Re: Problem with GEOtagging - inconsistent outcomes
A few further findings - I am still slightly baffled. (Cross-posted with Mke - see bottom)
I carried out geotagging of "land" camera photos in HoudahGEO successfully. (I could have done the same within PSu but I find the process quicker and less error prone in Houdah GEO)
For the photos from the ...

Problem with GEOtagging - inconsistent outcomes
Hi,
I am having trouble with inconsistent GPS tagging and location visualization in PSu, which I am going to describe below, for which I would appreciate assistance.
First things first, I have a valid API key and have added the required applications described in the instructions - I know that the ...

Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac
I have just updated PSu to the 64bit version and it seems to make a huge difference in the speed images appear, scroll and go into full screen mode.
I am not sure colour management yet works as it should, but at least the performance has now become acceptable if not good.
