Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac

Thank you to weldmic , Her t and Henry-in-Florida for your comments. weldmic: it should not be necessary to do this, because PSu should either generate its own previews or take them from the underlying OS. Hert: your suggestion is ridiculous, because it would mean having to regenerate the previews e...

Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac

Can you eplain that in more detail and share your settings? I think I've tried all Color Management Preferences and rebuilding the previews, but this seems to have little effect. Perhaps if I understood why PSu even has a preference pane for this it would help. Lightroom and others don't, so why sh...

Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac

I absolutely agree that PSu is a more powerful asset manager - even with the issues. But if all my DNG files look underexposed and washed out, simply because Hert's idea of colour management is weird, what practical use can it be? Am I supposed to preview them in the Finder?

Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac

I have the Single User version. I stopped using V4 and returned to LR a couple of months ago, but thought I'd have another go with this new 64bit version. I'm pleased the "development team" (i.e. Hert) has ported to a more up to date framework, but that's all he's done. The instability and quirks re...

Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac

After moving a few Categories around: Photo Supreme quit unexpectedly. Did anyone beta test this version?

Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac

Moving a category into another causes a rebuild of previews.

V4.1 64bit for Mac

Great to see a 64bit version released. First attempt at importing to an empty catalog. Import Folder. selected FOLDERS. right clicked on a folder and selected Make Top Level. PSu froze. Force Quite required. Second attempt successful. Then... Compact all. Transaction zero not set. Application quit u...

Re: GPS Country Codes

I, Mike Naylor, am not annoyed. I was merely asking if anyone could enlighten me for why 3 letter codes return different results than when 2 letter codes are submitted. You have noted that the ISO spec says 3 letters are easier to read, but this doesn't explain why the reverse lookups are different....

Hi,

I did not understand the problem. My PSu sets and uses 2 letters because I want it so;)
How did you do that?

Re: GPS Country Codes

Thanks Hert, and I will ask Jeffrey. I'm not suggesting PSu should be changed. I'm just wanting to know why they return different results.

GPS Country Codes

Please could some help me understand why PSu uses 3 letter country codes whilst Jeffrey Friedl's Lightroom Plugin uses 2 letter codes? Why do they yield different results when doing a reverse lookup? Is it possible to configure PSu to use 2 or 3 letters? I'd just like to understand a little more abo...

Re: Version 4 - Oh Dear.

The next "point" update to macOS, 10.13.4, introduces a warning when opening up a 32-bit app as part of an effort to phase them out. In the future, Apple plans to phase out 32-bit Mac apps, just like it did with 32-bit iOS apps. Apple says macOS High Sierra is the last version of macOS that will sup...

Re: Version 4 - Oh Dear.

Other than an aversion to 32 bit, what's the problem here? The problem here is PSu will cease working all together as Apple continues to phase out 32bit application support. PSu relies on a 3rd party package that is calling depreciated MacOS system level functions by default. Most, if not all, prob...

Re: Version 4 - Oh Dear.

Hert. Modern programming tools don't have this problem. In fact, there are many 64bit cross platform applications out there that work just fine. You really need to listen and move with times.
