Re: DNG Preview Size
In fact, both my high end cameras save to DNG - there is no other option.Mke wrote: 05 May 19 20:34 if that's not the reason you're using DNG, double check that your own reasons remain valid.

Re: Building Thumbnails
The only things I'd clicked on, have imported 400 images and waited for the build to complete, were to select between various panels and inspecting various metadata. I did not change or edit anything and the preferences were as per the default having only just installed it. This was a fresh install ...

Re: DNG Preview Size
So what Hert is really saying is that everyone should stick with the majority and use Canon or Nikon. Unfortunately for him, the majority are also choosing to stick with Lightroom - and with good reason.

Re: Documentation on Preferences
Enable "Tips" (CTRL+SHIFT+T) and hover the mouse pointer over the preference item you want described.
I see the Tips, but I need more information so I can understand. Tips are good to remind people what they already know. I suspect the majority of users have been with this software from the ...

Building Thumbnails
Is there a way to prevent PSu re-Building Thumbnails for no apparent reason? Every time this happens (which seems to be every time I click on anything), the program become unresponsive and I have to wait a very long time till it finishes.

DNG Preview Size
Hert, you say "DNGs should be created with full size previews. Your dng file’s probably we’re not created with full size previews. You can fix that in Lightroom or when using the DNG converter then make sure to use the option to create full size previews."
But my DNG files are saved within my ...

Documentation on Preferences
Hert, you say "make sure to leave all preferences at their defaults until you fully understand what they do" and I couldn't agree more. Please tell me where I can find documentation describing all the preferences.

Re: Has Anything Changed
Same old problem with the Preview Zoom size. DNG files display small images. I reported this 12 months ago.

Has Anything Changed
I'm back trying build 4.3.3.2082 (64bit) on an iMac 27" with Mojave 10.14.4 and immediately running into the same problems from all previous versions.
I began by importing a copy of about 400 TIFs that had been curated in Lightroom CC. All went well, except for taking a long time to build the ...

Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac
Thank you to weldmic , Her t and Henry-in-Florida for your comments.
weldmic: it should not be necessary to do this, because PSu should either generate its own previews or take them from the underlying OS.
Hert: your suggestion is ridiculous, because it would mean having to regenerate the ...

Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac
Can you eplain that in more detail and share your settings?
I think I've tried all Color Management Preferences and rebuilding the previews, but this seems to have little effect. Perhaps if I understood why PSu even has a preference pane for this it would help. Lightroom and others don't, so ...

Re: V4.1 64bit for Mac
I absolutely agree that PSu is a more powerful asset manager - even with the issues. But if all my DNG files look underexposed and washed out, simply because Hert's idea of colour management is weird, what practical use can it be? Am I supposed to preview them in the Finder?
