Im still struggling with PSu not being able to give me a decent render in the thumbnails to represent the work done in C1. I can start with the crop. Cropping in C1 does not appear in PSu for me at all. So my workaround for now (experimenting still) is to create JPG and TIF in C1.
For those of you ...

Hert,
Tested just bringing in the NEF's (directly to PSu not from C1) and was much much faster.

Re: 600 NEFs And Only 1/2 Thumbnailed in 3 Hours ..
Your NEF files probably have C1 edits? Unless you've disabled c1 support PSU will have to interpret your edits and apply them to the raw image while building thumb/preview.

@weidmic
Was the import / thumbnail creation any faster now?
My setting is 1680px and 90%
It seemed a bit faster with the DB on the SSD internal to the machine. Still tool longer than it takes for say C1 to create its thumbnails.
Another interesting thing, I took a copy of the DB up north this ...

600 NEFs And Only 1/2 Thumbnailed in 3 Hours ..
Im now at 75K+ Photos in PSu and running the Postgres Server version.
The thumb nailing process for me has seemed to be slowing as I have built up the DB. I run 1600px at 85% for the thumbnails and the NEFs are D810 Raw photos.

Re: POLL: How Many Images Are You Cataloging in Photo Supreme?
Im guessing at that time I would have to have C1 write out the XMP files, then move to the new program.I know that works for you, but isn't that contrary to "best practice?" What if, let's say, you switched from Capture One to another RAW editor, for instance Lightroom.

Hi Gents,
I was in, well ... Nassau for a bit shooting. Sorry but just back and able to catch up .. Trailing over the next couple weeks so won't have a ton of time, but will do my best when I can to test things out.

Re: Capture One C1 v.9 users please
HI All,
I just returned from a trip and will experiment again with this. I don't use the XMP sidecars so not sure if this made a difference in my experimenting. I also just upgraded to C1 9.1, my other testing was done in the prior version.
My method was (still experimenting) that I create a C1 ...

Travel Mode - How?
Switching the application to Travel Mode is done by selecting the option “Travel Mode” from the File menu. The Travel Mode is recognizable by the main toolbar’s red colour.
Im using the Server Version of PSu. I don't see the travel mode option on the file menu on PSu. Just wondering if this ...

@Stephen,
YEs Im a former Aperture user also. Exited quickly when I saw the writing on the wall and Aperture was sundowned. I knew Photos would not cut it and suspect never will. Also there is no need for Apple to make it a Pro type product as the Pro people have now moved on. I still love apple. I ...
